Eugene L. Barbieri age 89 of Manchester passed away peacefully on Friday October 16, 2015 at the Arbors Care Center in Toms River. Born in Perth Amboy he has resided in Sayreville from 1954 until moving to Manchester in 2001. Before his retirement in 1992 he was employed as a Sales Representative with Macy’s in East Brunswick for 20 years. Eugene has served in the US Army during WW2 and was a lifetime member of the NJ State Federation of Umpires. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Leisure Knoll Manchester and member of the Catholic War Veterans post 1613. Along with being a baseball umpire, Eugene was an avid Yankees fan.

He is predeceased by his parents Louis and Anna Barbieri. Surviving is his wife, of 66 years, Shirley and his Daughter Kathryn Keating with her husband Nicholas and his son Thomas with his wife Marianne. Also surviving are his granddaughters Amanda and Marissa. He is also survived by his sister Evelyn and her husband Howard Wolf.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin followed by a 9:30am service at Good Sheppard Church in Perth Amboy with burial to follow at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Perth Amboy.
