Obituary for Elsie E Boda (Bodoky)
Elsie E. Boda, age 89 of Sayreville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at JFK University Medical Center in Edison, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Staten Island, NY, she had resided in Sayreville for the past 58 years. She met her loving husband, Bela at a dance in Perth Amboy. Together they raised a beautiful family. Elsie enjoyed family gatherings and holidays, she was a cat lover and liked taking trips to Atlantic City. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Marian Bodoky, her husband Bela Boda, and her sister-in-law Joan Bodoky. Surviving are her children Catherine Boda, Lydia Schwake and her husband Peter, and John Boda and his wife Diane, her grandchildren Nicholas and Ashley Boda, her brother Joseph Bodoky, her godson Bill Patskanick and his wife Denise, many nieces and nephews and her faithful loving cats, Belle, Leo and Bunny.
Calling hours will take place on Friday from 9am to 11am at the Maliszewski Memorial Home, 121 Main Street, Sayreville. A prayer service will be held at 11am and burial will follow at Forest Green Park Cemetery in Morganville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Elsie’s name to Sammy’s Hope Animal Welfare and Adoption Center at www.sammyshope.org.
