Elizabeth “Betty” Poniatowski, age 91, of Flagler Beach, FL, peacefully passed away on October 13, 2020 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Perth Amboy to the late Frank and Helen Soltesz, she grew up in Carteret. Elizabeth raised her own family in South Amboy before living in both Fl and Metuchen for many years. While living in NJ, she was active at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Amboy as a Past President of the Catholic War Veterans, Middlesex County Chapter, Ladies Auxiliary. She held high level secretarial positions in the Raritan Arsenal and Rutgers University. After moving to Florida, she attended Santa Maria del Mar Church in Flagler Beach and served as Eucharistic Minister and President of the Ladies Guild. She worked in the Insurance field and in the Walmart craft department.
Betty was a natural born artist who won awards for her drawing, painting, crafts, and handmade costumes. Her family and friends were always gifted with delicious homemade Christmas cookies, banana bread, cheesecakes, stuffed cabbage, and potato pancakes. She enjoyed dancing polkas, horseback riding, bingo, sitting in the sun, and being with family. Heaven has gained a treasured angel who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Elizabeth is predeceased by her 1st husband Arthur Marczak, her 2nd husband Stanley Poniatowski, and by her sister Helen Kaskiw. She is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses Barbara and Eugene Weresow, Kevin and Connie Marczak, and Richard and Joyce Poniatowski. She always prayed to God to bless and protect her 4 grandchildren Catherine, Sharon, Jocelyn, and Gena; and her 6 great-grandchildren Ayden, Mason, Ryan, Hayley, Leo, and Vincent.
