Obituary for Eileen Mary Johnson Batista
Eileen Mary Johnson Batista was born in Newark, New Jersey on October 14,1957 and passed away peacefully at home, in South Amboy, New Jersey on June 19, 2022. Eileen was the youngest of four children born to John and Theresa Johnson. Eileen lived most of her life in South Amboy, New Jersey. She attended St. Mary's Elementary and High School and received an Associates of Science Degree from Middlesex County College. Eileen had a successful career as a Registered Nurse for more than 40 years. Eileen was very dedicated to her profession and highly respected by her colleagues and patients alike. Eileen's warm demeanor and generosity reached new heights around the holidays when her famous cookie platter would show up at Christmas Dinners.
Eileen was a devoted dog mom to Merlin, Spencer and Diego Diablo and lovingly referred to them as "her kids." Aunt Ei as she was affectionately known to her nieces and nephews was also a loving sister, grandaunt and friend. We will always remember her infectious laugh and warm hugs. Eileen is preceded in death by her cherished parents, her beloved husband, Gary Batista and her adored mother-in law Myrna. She is survived by her brother Kevin and sisters Maureen and Kathleen, 2 nieces, 3 nephews, 6 grandnieces and grand nephewsandmanycousins and friends who were family; Nancy, Jose, Debbie and loyal neighbors Noreen and John. Eileen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held Monday July 18, 2022 from 2pm - 4pm at Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, NJ 08859 with a burial on Tuesday at 10am at Christ Church Cemetery in South Amboy, NJ. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Eileen's memory to The American Cancer Society P.O.
