Obituary for Edgardo M. Gualberto

Sayreville
Edgardo Gualberto, age 88, of Sayreville, peacefully passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023 at JFK Medical Center in Edison, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Manila, Philippines to the late Anastacio and Victorina Gualberto, Edgardo, with his wife Florina, immigrated to the United States in 1973 and lived in East Orange, NJ before moving to Sayreville in 1986. They enjoyed a wonderful 35 years together in the borough.

Edgardo was a very active parishioner of St. Bernadette RC Church in Parlin, often donating his time and efforts to ensure the betterment of the church. He loved being outdoors both golfing and fishing, was a huge fan of the New York Giants, and loved nothing more than gardening. He also competed in and won many ballroom dance competitions with his dear wife. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Edgardo is predeceased by his beloved wife Florina Gualberto in 2021. Surviving are his loving children and their spouses Eileen Gualberto and John Trapnell of CO, Elia and Steve Josinsky of Long Island, NY, and Gary Gualberto of Sayreville; his 4 loving grandchildren Joshua Brock and his wife Darilyn of VA, Justin Brock of Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and Arden and Juliana Josinsky, both of NY; his dear great-grandson Brooklyn; his brother Rodrigo Gualberto of the Philippines; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 9:45am on Saturday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10:30am mass being offered at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Burial will immediately follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville.
