Doris Quigley, age 84, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on July 16th, 2022.
Doris grew up in Fords, NJ and attended Woodbridge High School. She continued her education and proudly graduated from St. Peter’s Hospital School of Nursing, New Brunswick in 1957 and retained employment there.
In 1961 she married her husband Philip Quigley. They resided in Fords before moving to Sayreville to raise their family.
She later continued her Neonatal nursing career, nicknamed “Quigs” by her sisterhood of nurses, until her retirement in 1993 from Raritan Bay Hospital Perth Amboy.
Doris was an amazing role model, mother, grandmother (Nanny) and friend to all who had the pleasure to know her. Her unwavering faith was the reason she started every morning with a Thank You and that faith was apparent in all that she said and did.
She is predeceased by her Husband Philip, Mother Rose Poniatowski and Stepfather John Poniatowski.
She was a devoted mother to her four surviving children, Philip, Christine, Joanne and Kathleen. Her never ending love, compassion, friendship and support was immeasurable.
Left to also cherish her memory is her beloved Daughter In Law Stephanie and Son’s in Law Ed and Antonio and the true joy’s of her life who kept her young and laughing; her 13 grandchildren Allison ( Husband Mauricio), Kimberley (Husband AJ), Brianna (Husband Christian) Alexandria (Husband Eric), Erica, Kristina, Olivia, Victoria, Nicole, Emily, Kaitlyn, Amanda and Cassandra, and her 3 Great Grandchildren, Logan, Emily and Auggie.
Calling hours will be Tuesday at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services are Wednesday 8:45am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home with a 9:30am mass at St. Bernadette’s. An entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick.
