Obituary for Donald B Freer

Donald B. Freer, age 46 of Old Bridge passed away on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at his home. Born in South Amboy he had been a lifelong local resident of Sayreville and Old Bridge. He was employed as a Foreman for Miller Pipeline for many years. Previously he was a Certified Surgical Technologist at Jersey Shore Medical Center and an Instructor at Ultrasound Diagnostic School. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, four wheeling, days at Raceway Park, weight-lifting with his son Ryan and cheering him on the football field, fixing cars and trucks with his son Donald, doing anything outdoors and always near a bonfire, lastly he was a big Dallas Cowboys and KISS fan. He was most happy spending time with his teenage boys who where his world. He was a devoted father, son, brother and uncle who will sadly be missed by his friends and family.

He is predeceased by his father Donald and his niece Julia Zebrowski. Surviving are his sons Donald Freer II and Ryan Freer of Freehold, his mother Linda Balas of Old Bridge, his sisters Lisa Zebrowski and her husband Carl of Parlin and Lori Smith of Jackson, his nephew Henry Smith of Jackson, his uncles Dale and his wife Nancy Orszulski of Monroe and John Freer of South Amboy, his aunt Robin Pinkow and her husband Steve of CA, his former wife and mother of his children Christina DiPietro of Freehold and many more cousins and extended family members.

Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1pm to 5pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a prayer service at 3:30pm. A private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to his family to help cover expenses. Due to current Covid 19 restrictions, please note that a maximum of 100 visitors will be allowed in the funeral home at once and masks must be worn at all times.
