Obituary for Dolores Ann Lawnick (Andrejewski)

Dolores Ann Lawnick, age 83 of South River passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at her home. Born in South Amboy she had resided in South River for most of her life. She was currently employed by the South River Board of Education in the kitchen/cafeteria of the elementary school, for the past 15 years, where she was lovingly known as “Grandma” to all the kids. She also dedicated her time to make breakfast and lunch boxes during Covid so kids didn’t miss any meals while schools were closed. Formerly, she was the owner and operator of Ram’s Head Tavern in South River for 25 years. Dolores was an avid bowler, she enjoyed going to her campground in Sussex for over 30 years, loved family gatherings and she especially cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is predeceased by her parents Edward and Edith Andrejewski, her son David and her sister Nancy Gutwein. Surviving are her children and their spouses Michael and Anita Lawnick of South River, Karl Lawnick of Union City, Donna and David Rutkowski of Stanhope and Stephanie Banks of OK, her grandchildren and their spouses, David & Jennifer, Robert and Nicole, Lauren and Adam, Michael, TJ, Olivia and Mike, Jillian, Ingrid, Krystal, Rachel, her great-grandchildren Tyler, Hannah, Brayden, Bobby, Osiris, Jeremiah, Jameson and Cameron, her sister Judy Szmyd, her brother and his wife Edward and Donna Andrejewski, her brother-in-law Alfred Gutwein, her special cousin and friend Arie Jensen and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Funeral services are private under the direction of the Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River.
