Dion Marrone, age 50, of Conway, SC, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at Waccamaw Medical Center in Murrells Inlet, SC. Born in Somerville, NJ, Dion was raised in Raritan before living in Sayreville and finally settling in his dream home in SC with his beloved wife. He graduated from Bridgewater-Raritan High School and worked as a computer programmer. Dion loved country music and cooking, especially Bar-B-Q. He was never more proud than when he won the only competition he ever entered for the best tomato sauce in Myrtle Beach. He was often known as Doug Heffernan by his closest family and friends because of his love of the “King of Queens”, even reciting his vows to his own wife from what Doug lovingly said to Carrie. However, none of this could match his love of Nascar and the Earnhardt family. The numbers 3 & 88 will always be #1 in his heart.
Dion is predeceased by his furbaby Dakota, his in-laws Frank and MaryEllen Rohan, and his grandparents Ralph and Mary Cusati. Surviving is his beloved wife MaryAnne Marrone of Conway, SC; his loving furbabies Izzabella Sophia and Moonshine Marie; his dear parents Frank and Rosalie Marrone of Raritan; his brothers and their spouses Dean and Patricia Marrone of Raritan and Damian and Alyssa Marrone of South Bound Brook; his nephews Declan and Colton Marrone of South Bound Brook; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. Burial will follow at St. Gertrude’s Cemetery in Colonia.
