Obituary for Dennis Halas
Dennis Halas, age 68, of Parlin passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Lancaster General Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in New Brunswick, Dennis was a lifelong’ resident of Parlin. Before his retirement Dennis owned and operated Sav on Drugs in Keyport, NJ. He was a devoted parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in South Amboy. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle & friend. Loved by so many, he will forever be missed by all who knew and cared for him.
Dennis is predeceased by his parents Walter & Ann Halas as well as his brothers Michael & Larry Halas. He is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years Sherry Halas (Scott), his adored son Dennis Halas and his significant other Sara and his much loved dog Chika and many loving cousins and friends.
A Funeral mass will take place at 10am on Thursday at Sacred Heart Church in South Amboy. Burial will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville. Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, Parlin will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, please note that a maximum of 100 visitors will be allowed inside the funeral home at once and masks must be worn at all times. We encourage visitors to limit their time in the building to allow the family the maximum amount of guests possible. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations in Dennis’ name be made to Keyport Food Ministerium Pantry & Sayreville Food Bank.
