Obituary for Daniel L Salvaggio

Daniel (Donato) L. Salvaggio, age 93 of Morgan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home, surround by his loving family. Born in Carbondale, PA, he had moved to Perth Amboy and then later to Morgan where he lived for 61 years. Before his retirement, Daniel worked at his father’s gas station and then as a mason with Anaconda Copper Works in Perth Amboy. He also worked at General Motors and Sciortino’s. Dan was a proud US Army Veteran and devoted family man. Dan loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy was his grandchildren and great-grandson. Daniel was known as a man who had a helping hand for everyone.
Surviving are his loving wife of 66 years, the former Mary Ann Seyglinski, his son Louis and his wife Cynthia, his daughter Maria Hornlein, his grandchildren Mary Salvaggio and her husband Preston Greene, Jeanine Longobardi and her huband Larry, Daniel Salvaggio, Amelia Salvaggio, Brandon Hornlein, his great-grandson Peter Longobardi and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Funeral services will be Friday 9:30am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10:00am funeral Mass at Sacred Heart RC Church in South Amboy. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Keyport.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 3pm to 7pm.
Please note that masks must be worn in the funeral home at all times, regardless of vaccination status.
