Obituary for Constance Taormina

Constance Taormina, age 98, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. Born in New York, NY, Connie later moved to Parlin, NJ where she raised her family and lived with her husband Philip for 50 years. Coming full circle, she lived the last six years of her life in the state of New York (New Rochelle.) Prior to her marriage, Connie worked as a bookkeeper for Goldy’s Dental Lab in New York City. Later work included a volunteer position as Librarian for Eisenhower Elementary School in Parlin and a stint as a Claims Agent for the Perth Amboy Unemployment Office. Connie enjoyed movies, music, and could never be found far from a cup of black coffee.

Constance is predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years, Philip Taormina, her parents, Joseph and Mary Fanelli, and her three older siblings, Rose Giannetto, John Fanelli and Carmine Fanelli. Surviving are her daughters and their spouses, Debra and Christopher Cacace of New Rochelle, NY and Patricia and Vincent Kirkowski of Parlin as well as her grandchildren Luke Kirkowski and Marlena Kirkowski, also of Parlin. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, 11 great-nieces and nephews, and 10 great-great nieces and nephews.

Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin NJ 08859 will take place Monday from 4pm to 8pm. Services at the funeral home will take place on Tuesday at 9:15am with a 10am Funeral Mass being offered at Our Lady of Victory R.C. Church, Sayreville. Entombment to follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens, Woodbridge.
