Obituary for Colette Piatek

Colette Simone Piatek, 88, passed away Sunday January 29, 2023 at her home peacefully with her family by her side. Colette was born January 31st 1934 in Angouleme, France to her parents Roger and Marie Simon. Soon after the family moved to Paris France. In 1958 Colette followed her older sister Jeanette, to the USA in New Jersey where she lived for the remainder of her life. Colette was known by all her friends as "Fifi". She was a stay-at-home mom when her children were small, and then became a manager at Dunkin' donuts in West Long Branch for 10 years. She was loved by so many. She was known to always dress impeccable and made it a point to go out every day whether it was to go shopping or just having lunch with her family or friends. She enjoyed playing cards, she loved to dance and she would never miss a party or any special occasion that she was invited to, with of course her daughter Patricia in tow. Every weekend she loved to take rides with her beloved husband Frank searching for yard sales and auctions, followed by lunch together. Weekends were always their own special time together. On many occasions they would visit Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. If you would ask any of her friends to describe Colette, they would all say she was free-spirited, the life of the party and always would look for the good in others. Celebrating holidays with her family was always the best time for her. She loved her family immensely and she was there for them anytime they needed her without hesitation.
