Obituary for Claire M. Salamon (Chunco)

Claire M. Salamon, age 78 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at her home. Born in Perth Amboy she was a lifelong Sayreville resident. Before her retirement she was the beloved waitress at Vitale’s Restaurant in Old Bridge for 24 years. Claire enjoyed arts & crafts, sewing, cooking, entertaining family and friends, traveling and she was a proud activist for Parkinson’s disease.

She is predeceased by her parents Stephen and Eugenia Chunco and her husband Frederick. Surviving are her son Eric Salamon and his wife Julia, her daughter Susan Salamon, her brother John Chunco, her sister Colleen Davis and her husband William, her brother-in-law Theodore Salamon, her close friend and cousin June Wurtman, her best friend from childhood Janice Grande and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday 10am at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Ln, Parlin. Burial will follow at St Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 4pm to 8pm. Please note masks are required in the building at all times.
