Claire Toomey Metz, age 73 of Old Bridge, passed away after a brief illness at Hackensack Meridian Health at Old Bridge. Born in Jersey City, she had resided in Old Bridge for many years. Before her retirement, Claire worked as a nurse for over 35 years.

She is predeceased by her parents John and Rosemary Toomey, her beloved husband of 30 years Richard, her brother in law John Metz and her brother in law John Protonentis.

Surviving are her loving children Joseph and his wife Dayna, Jeannine Fulmer and her husband Allan, her cherished grandchildren Mikayla and Reagan. her sister Ellen Toomey, her brother John Toomey and his wife Colleen, her sisters-in-law Linda Metz and Nancy Protonentis, her brother in law Raymond Metz and his wife Terry, and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be Tuesday 8:45am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, with a 9:30am funeral Mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church in Parlin. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in east Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 3pm tom 7pm.
