Christina Leonette, age 71, of South Amboy, suddenly passed away at her home on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late George and Marie DeVivo, Christina has lived in South Amboy for many years. After receiving her degree from Middlesex County Community College, she worked as a bookkeeper for 15 years before her children were born but ultimately decided her calling was as a loving mother to her 2 children. Christina loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, cooking, and baking, especially during Christmas time. She also loved to shop, amassing a collection of tablecloths large enough to lay out a new one every day. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Christina is predeceased by her brother George DeVivo, Jr. Surviving are her loving children and their spouses Thomas Leonette and Jaclyn Nelson of Parlin, and Melissa and Matthew Brennan of Matawan; her beloved grandchildren Grace, Georgia, Danny, and Jimmy; as well as many dear nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday from 4pm to 8pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, NJ with a prayer service scheduled for 7pm. A private cremation will follow.
