Obituary for Christian Bernard Verlingo

Christian Bernard Verlingo, age 50 of Parlin, passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born in Jersey City, he had lived in Parlin for over 15 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville and volunteered much of his time at Our Lady of Victories school for 15 years. Chris coached all three of his children's basketball teams and was an avid Dallas Cowboys, NY Mets and NY Knicks fan. He loved watching sports, horse racing, The Honeymooners, exploring new restaurants with his family, and cooking delicious meals. His greatest joy was his family and being a father. He loved his children more than anything in the world.
He is predeceased by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Thomas and Alice Simonelli.
Surviving are his loving wife of 22 years Nicole Simonelli Verlingo, his cherished children Christian, Nicholas, and Daniella Verlingo, his parents Frederick & Carol Verlingo, his sister and brother-in-law Clorinda & Peter Pasqua, his brother-in-law Thomas Simonelli & his wife Antoinette, his brother-in-law Michael Simonelli, his sister-in-law Erika Rask & her husband Robert, his nephew Thomas Simonelli, his niece Alyssa Rask and a host of friends who will miss him dearly.
Calling hours at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, will be Wednesday from 4pm to 8pm. A service will be take place at 7pm.
Please note that masks must be worn in the funeral home at all times, regardless of vaccination status.
