Carole Ann Leppig (nee Hughes), age 85 of Sayreville, NJ, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at her home. Born in New York City, she lived in Sayreville for many years. Before her retirement, Carole was the proud owner of the Malibu Inn in Sayreville. She was also a cook for the priests of Corpus Christi RC Church and the Passionist Provincialate in South River for many years. She was a very active communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville.
She is predeceased by her parents Samuel and Mary Hughes and her brothers Robert, John, and Edward Hughes.
Surviving are her sons Frederick, Gordon and his wife Julie, and Daniel, her grandchildren Kai Neander, Sylvie Leppig, Jake Leppig and his wife Bethany, Emily Leppig, her sister Marilyn Crosbie and many loving friends and neighbors who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be Wednesday 9:15am from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin with a 10:00am Mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church. Burial will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
