South River
Carol E. Presnal, age 81, of South River, suddenly passed away at her home on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Born in Glen Ridge, NJ to the late Frank and Matilda Belles, Carol and her family moved to Pennsylvania at a young age where she lived until her early high school years. She later graduated from South River High School and remained in the borough for the rest of her life. Before her retirement, she worked as a secretary for 14 years with JS Polik.
Carol was a very active member of her community. She was a proud communicant of St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River, a member of both the South River Office on Aging and the Mayor’s Advisory Board, and a member of the local chapter of the Red Hat Society. Carol was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend and will be missed by the many she knew throughout her life.
Carol is predeceased by her husband Carl Presnal. Surviving are her loving daughter and son-in-law Jill Johnson-McKenney and William McKenney of Englishtown; her brother Frank Belles and his wife Carol, her niece Kristin Abate and her husband Anthony, and her great-nephews and great-niece Tyler, Shawn, and Katie.
Calling hours at the funeral home will take place on Monday morning from 8am to 9:30am at the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River, NJ. Catholic Mass will follow at 10am at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in East Brunswick.
