Obituary for Carl J Saporito

Carl J  Saporito
Carl J. Saporito, age 85 of Whiting passed away Tuesday, August 4th at Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood. Born in Perth Amboy he had resided in Whiting for the past 12 years and was formerly of the Parlin section of Sayreville for 40 years. Before his retirement Carl was employed by Middlesex County Areawide Transportation Service in New Brunswick as a driver for 10 years and prior to that was a crane operator for the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825. He was a US Marine Veteran, a member of the Perth Amboy American Legion Post 45, was an avid Jets fan, enjoyed trips to the islands and listening to opera music and his favorite, Tom Jones.

He is predeceased by his wife Helen, his siblings Charles, Andrew, Elizabeth Oross and his twin Annamarie Matzura. Survivng are his companion of 29 years Sylvia Devine, his daughter Michelle Saporito of South Amboy, his son Carl Jr. and his wife Louise of North Brunswick, his grandsons Jayson Saporito and Jessie Hydro and his great grandson Dominick Saporito.

Funeral services will be held 11am Monday at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with burial to follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery in East Brunswick.

Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday from 2pm to 6pm.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Carl’s name to a charity of your choice.
