Obituary for Bruce "Gerry" Camerer
Bruce “Gerry” Camerer, age 71 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick with his family by his side. Born in Queens, NY he quickly learned how to negotiate class start times and homework to make the day work for him. He carried this tenacious attitude with him to UPS, as the Air Division Manager in Manhattan, NY for 33 years. He retired early from UPS to spend time doing the things he loved with the people he loved. After retirement, he especially enjoyed catching up with his UPS family at their quarterly luncheons.
Bruce loved spending sunny days on the deck with his coffee, his partner, and a Wall Street Journal. He was happiest on Sundays, filled with hours of watching football, checking his DraftKings, and waiting for his children to come over for weekly family dinner.
He lived on his own terms, being honest and generous, but also willing and ready to politely let others know when they were mistaken. He will be remembered for his endless knowledge, humor, and appreciation for life. He will be deeply missed by his loved ones.
He is predeceased by his parents Sylvester and Eileen Camerer and his sister Rosemary Camerer. Surviving are his children Erik Camerer and Kerry Camerer and his partner of 20 years, Marion Mueller.
Calling hours will take place Monday, April 18 from 4pm to 8pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A private burial will follow.
