Obituary for Bernice E "Bunny" Cockrille (Wneck)

Bernice E. Cockrille, age 92 of North Brunswick, passed away peacefully at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick on Saturday, November 27, 2021, with her loving daughter by her side. Born in Sayreville, she was a graduate of Sayreville High School Class of 1946 and Montclair University class of 1950. Bernice worked in the editorial and advertising departments of two Washington DC Newspapers. She then went on the work in Television as a show business reporter at WMAL in Washington DC, as well as work in radio and film. She performed in the theater in both Washington DC and NJ. Before her retirement, Bernice worked as a teacher for 32 years, the last 25 of which she taught at Bridgewater East High School in Bridgewater. She was a member of the NEA, NJEA and Women’s Literacy Club of Bound Brook.
Surviving are her loving daughters Judy Bell and Chris Konarski and her cherished granddaughters Alexandra and Stephanie Konarski and Zina Bell.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00am at St. Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville, followed by a burial at St. Stan’s Cemetery in Sayreville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Bernice's name to St Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org.com. Funeral services are entrusted to the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane Parlin, NJ 08859.
