Obituary for Bernadine B Kapica (Kuchta)
Bernadine B. Kapica, age 98 of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Friday, December 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sayreville she was a lifelong borough resident. Before her retirement she was employed by the Borough of Sayreville Recreation Department as an umpire and scorekeeper for many years. Prior to that she taught 3rd grade at St Stanislaus Kostka School in Sayreville for 17 years. She was a long-time communicant of St Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville. Bernadine was an avid bowler and sports fan. She was a devoted mother, wife and grandmother. Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving family.
She is predeceased by her parents; Martin and Catherine Kuchta, her husband; Chester, her brothers; Adolph, Zigmund and Steve Kuchta, and her sisters; Josephine Zaleski, Lizzy Kukulski and Tessie Kwiatkowski. Surviving are her daughter; Kathleen Stricker, her son and his wife; Gerard and Jeryl Kapica, her grandchildren; Gregory Stricker, Gary Stricker, Glen Stricker and his wife Laura, Sarah Vitale and her husband Stephen and Matthew Kapica, her great grandchildren; Callie and Cole, her brother; Joseph Kuchta and his wife Ann and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral Mass will take place on Thursday, January 4, 2024, 9:00am at St Stanislaus Kostka RC Church in Sayreville. Burial will follow at St Stanislaus Cemetery in Sayreville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Bernadine’s name to a local food bank of your choice.
