Obituary for Barbara Bracht (Gleman)

Barbara Bracht, a long-time resident of Morgan, died Thursday the 24th of October. She was born in 1938 in Queens, NY to parents Ella Callahan Gleman and Arthur Gleman. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Frank Bracht, her daughter Ellen Bracht, and her son Frank Bracht.

Barbara worked at Saint Peter’s University Hospital for nineteen years. She was an incredible Mother, Wife, Aunt, Sister and Friend. She loved her family fiercely and those she loved were her guiding light. Loyal, determined, kind, strong, and eternally optimistic are some words that best describe her. She is also well known for being incredibly quick witted and for her ability to bring levity and laughter to any situation with her revered “one-liners”.

She was preceded in death by her three brothers, Arthur Gleman and wife Eileen, John Gleman and Robert Gleman. Barbara is also survived by her sister-in-law Peg Gleman, her brother-in-law Bill Bracht and his wife Pat as well as loving nieces and nephews including Kelly Abrams, Meg Kiefer, Heather Rade, Robert and Margaret Gleman, Augie and Audrey Byllott, Paul and Karen Byllott, William and Robin Byllott, Richard Byllott, MaryAnne and Sal Caravella, Lucy and Mike Koch as well as Terry, Patty, Kathleen and Carol Gleman and their families. She is also survived by many grand nieces and nephews who adored her.

Calling hours at The Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin will be held Sunday, October 27th from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm-9pm and Monday, October 28th from 2pm - 4pm and 7pm-9pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 29th at The Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home at 9am with a funeral mass at 10am at St. Lawrence Church in Laurence Harbor. Burial to follow at New Calvary Cemetery in Parlin, NJ.
