Antoinette Piscitelli Sweeney, age 90 of South River, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at her home, with her loving family by her side. Born in South River, she was a lifelong borough resident. Before her retirement, Antoniette worked for Rutgers University in New Brunswick in their catering department. Antoniette loved nothing more than spending time with her family.
She is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Jennie (Ameriello) Piscitelli, her husband John Sweeney, her brothers Salvatore, Frank, Nicholas, Victor, and Thomas Piscitelli, and her sisters Jennie Rossi, Victoria Donnis, Frances Grasso and Maggy Trent.Surviving are her companion of 26 years Joseph “Zish” Zyskowski, her adult children, her 12 grandchildren, her 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Funeral services will be Thursday, 10am from the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home 218 Whitehead Ave. South River, with a 10:30am Mass at St. Mary of Ostrabrama RC Church in South River. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Burial Park in South Brunswick. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
