Obituary for Anthony Daniel "Tony" Contegiacomo

Parlin
Anthony “Tony” Daniel Contegiacomo, age 73, of the Parlin section of Old Bridge, peacefully passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Daniel and Marion Contegiacomo, Tony also lived in Staten Island before settling in Old Bridge 30 years ago. Before his retirement, Tony was a plant operator for an Asphalt company in Red Hook, Brooklyn.

Tony was a loyal fan of the New York Jets and loved playing cards. He enjoyed working on cars and motorcycles in his younger years and was a drummer in many bands growing up. However, there was nothing more important to Tony than his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren as family was always his greatest passion. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Tony is predeceased by his parents and by his brother Robert Contegiacomo. Surviving is his beloved wife of 38 years Catherine Contegiacomo (Greco) of Old Bridge; his loving children Anthony Contegiacomo, Jr. and his wife Miranda of FL, Karen Contegiacomo of FL, Lisa Contegiacomo of Clementon, Albert Contegiacomo and his fiancée Helen D’Amico of Old Bridge, and Danielle Contegiacomo of Old Bridge; his dear grandchildren Ron, Mirandas, Anthony III, Jayshaun, Mikayla, Mikey, Morgan, Vincent, John, Robert, and Reagan; his brother Daniel Contegiacomo and wife Debbie of Morganville; as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Calling hours are scheduled for Sunday from 2pm to 6pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin. A Celebration of Tony’s life will take place at the funeral home on Monday at 10am with a private cremation to follow.

In honor of the holiday season and in lieu of flowers, Tony would greatly appreciate a memorial donation in his name to Toys for Tots at https://secure.toysfortots.org/a/donatetoday.
