Obituary for Anna Wojtenko

Anna Wojtenko, age 94, of Somerset, peacefully passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ohanany, Belarus to the late Kazimir and Anna Gonczar, Anna immigrated to the United States and has lived in Somerset for nearly 60 years. Before her retirement, Mrs. Wojtenko was employed for over 30 years as a weaver with Malden Mills in Bound Brook. Anna was the last surviving founding member of the Belarusian Orthodox Church in Germany. She was a devout parishioner of St. Mary Zyrovicy Church in Highland Park. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Anna is predeceased by her beloved husband Mikolaj and by her son Leonid. Surviving is her daughter and son-in-law Irene and Robert Brander of Somerset; her daughter-in-law Dr. Izabela Wojtenko of PA; her grandchildren Jennifer Brander Fish and husband David Fish, Allison Brander, Olivia Wojtenko, and Elizabeth Berger; and her great-grandchildren Collin Fish, Caroline Fish, Charlotte Fish, Shane Palmer, and Knox Berger.

Funeral services will be held at 10am on Thursday at the M.A. Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Avenue, South River, with burial to follow at St. Mary Zyrovicy Cemetery in East Brunswick.
