Anna Markus, age 81 of Old Bridge passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. Born in Hungary she had resided in Old Bridge for the past 58 years. Before her retirement she was employed by Webcraft Technologies in North Brunswick for 12 years and formerly for Brodsky and Sons in South River for many years. Anna was a practicing member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was happiest when she was spending time with her loving family. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is predeceased by her parents; Emil and Barbara Bata, her husband; Joseph and her granddaughter; Melanie. Surviving are her sons; Joseph Markus, Thomas Markus and Richard Markus and his wife Dawn; her grandchildren; Stephanie, Alicia, Adrienne, Richard, Nicole, Kristen, Jolynn, Briana and Marisa, her great grandchildren; David, Gianna, Lilly, Noah, Willow, Vincent, Kyle, Michael, Dominic, Ava and Gavin and her sister; Violet Niederoest.

Funeral services will take place on Friday, 11am at Maliszewski Funeral Home, 218 Whitehead Ave, South River. Burial will follow at Washington Monumental Cemetery in South River.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Thursday from 4pm to 8pm.
