Ann’s family meant everything to her and she was the best mother/grandmother/aunt/friend one could ask for. She was a shining example of intelligence, strength, and determination.

Ann always knew she wanted a large family and although she was an excellent student and was encouraged to go to college, she chose to marry her high school sweetheart and start her family before furthering her education. Education was very important to her and when her beloved adopted hometown of South Amboy had half days of school due to overcrowding, she and her friends founded South Amboy Citizens for Education and enlisted the ACLU to successfully represent the students of South Amboy bringing an end to half sessions.

After raising her family, Ann started college at the age of 48 where she was an honor student. She earned her associates degree from Middlesex County College and her bachelors degree from Rutgers University. She then began a career as a probation officer in the Superior Court of the State of NJ in the family court in Middlesex County, retiring at the age of 79.

Ann enjoyed spending her retirement reading, writing, traveling, and most of all talking, laughing and visiting with friends and family. Her memory will be treasured by everyone lucky enough to have known her. Sláinte Grannie Annie!

In the spirit of Ann’s lifelong dedication to education, she has made an anatomical gift of her body to Rutgers Medical School.

Her memorial service will be held at a later date.
