Obituary for Andrew E Crummy

Andrew  E  Crummy
Andrew Eugene Crummy, age 93, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020 at Morris Hall Assisted Living, Lawrenceville. Born in West Orange, Gene lived in Sayreville for 59 years. He served his country during WWII and was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. After his service, Gene graduated from Seton Hall University. Before his retirement, he worked as a manager at the Borough of Sayreville and PSE&G in Newark. Gene was a communicant at Our Lady of Victories Church in Sayreville, and also volunteered his time as a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 2061.

Gene is predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Boutillier Crummy, his daughter, Maureen C. Murtha, his son, Daniel Patrick Crummy, and three siblings. Surviving are his children and their spouses, Mary and Brian Lilley of Brick, Eileen Crummy and Margaret McHale of Cranford, Father Michael Crummy of Milltown, Thomas and Kathy Crummy of Orlando, FL, Joan and Jim Wickizer of East Windsor, Patricia and Harry McGowan of Adel, IA, and Kate and Jim DeLucia of Sayreville, his 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, as well as his many loving nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Gene’s name to Our Lady of Victories St. Vincent de Paul Society, or to Catholic Charities www.catholiccharitiestrenton.org/donate.

All services are private, due to the COVID-19 federal restrictions on public gatherings, under the direction of Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin, N.J.
