Andree  Cowan
On Tuesday March 30, 2021 Andree Cowan, loving wife and mother of 2 children passed away at the age of 84.

Born Andree Wetterau in Brooklyn, NY she grew up in Queens Village and graduated salutatorian of Andrew Jackson High school. She went on to graduate from Cortland college where on a trip to a neighboring school she met her future husband, Doug Cowan. Together they moved to Sayreville, NJ where they have resided for more than 50 years.

Andree taught elementary school in Sayreville for more than 25 years before her retirement where she touched hundreds of students lives. She served as a trustee of the Library Board and was a co-founder of the Friends of the Library. Andree was known for her smile and ability to face the world with a positive attitude. She loved playing mahjong and bridge and was an avid reader. A lover of travel, Andree and Doug visited many different countries and spent winters in Kauai. Their close-knit group of friends enriched her retirement years and contributed greatly to a life which we could all envy.

She is survived by her husband Doug Cowan, daughter and her husband Pam and Frank O’Neill, her son Glenn Cowan, five grandchildren Patrick, Frank, Kelsy, Chris and Michelle, 3 great grandchildren Maeve, Maya, and Mason and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Saturday from 1pm -4pm at the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin.

Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, please note that a maximum of 100 visitors will be permitted in the funeral home at one time, and masks must be worn at all times.
