Joyce L. Reu, age 85, formerly of Madison Park in Parlin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at her home with her loving family at her side. Born in Queens, NY, she lived and raised her family in Madison Park since 1955 before moving to MA 4 years ago. Joyce’s greatest accomplishment was raising her 6 children as a homemaker and loving wife. She was also a photography assistant for 15 years with the Staten Island Public Schools and loved travel, gardening, and Broadway musicals.

Joyce is predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Reu, parents Samuel & Jenni Festa, her brothers, Andrew Festa and Louie Festa, sisters-in-law Rosemarie and Jeannette Festa, and grand-daughter Nicole Karpf. She is survived by her loving children and their spouses Deborah & Robert Haydu of Toms River, Patricia & Michael Karpf of Parlin, Barbara Reu & Lori Batta of MA, Carl Reu of MD, Edward, Jr. & Mena Reu of Iselin, and Elaine Reu of MA; her grandchildren Erin Haydu & Nicole Pereira, William Sing & Mary Dancil, Joshua Sing & Jennifer O’Brien, Ryan Karpf, Alexa Batta-Reu, Marisa Batta-Reu, and Amanda Reu; her great-granddaughter Scarlett Sing; siblings Elaine Yarros (Paul) and Sam Festa; sister-in-law Edith Festa; as well as many loving nieces, nephews & friends.

Funeral services will be held at 9:15am on Saturday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin with a 10am mass at St. Bernadette’s RC Church. Burial will follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens in Hazlet.
