Theresa Marie Macagnone, age 85, of Sayreville passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at JFK Hospital in Edison with her loving family at her side. Born and raised in Brooklyn she has resided in Sayreville for many years. After graduating from New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, Mrs. Macagnone raised her family and decided to later return to the workforce as a clerical officer for Cardinal Claims Service also in Brooklyn. Theresa was involved in her church and community as she was a communicant of Our Lady of Victories RC Church and a member of the OLV Tuesday Seniors Club. She also loved playing cards, traveling to Atlantic City, and bowling, which she was still very actively doing up until recently. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Theresa is predeceased by her beloved husband Salvatore in 2000, her parents Andrew & Philomina Marotta, and her brothers Nick & Frank Marotta. Surviving are her 3 loving children Charles of Monroe, Michael & his wife Gail of Sayreville, and Joanne & her husband Mike Guiheen of Sayreville; 6 adoring grandchildren Tasha & husband Sean Cerro of Sayreville, Nicolette of Sayreville, Christa of Freehold, Matthew of Old Bridge, Zachary of Manalapan, and Katrina Guiheen of Sayreville; and her 2 dear great-grandchildren Santino & Paityn.

Funeral services will be held 8:45am Monday from the Carmen F. Spezzi Funeral Home, 15 Cherry Lane, Parlin followed by a 9:30am mass at Our Lady of Victories RC Church in Sayreville. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens.

Calling hours at the funeral home will take place Sunday from 1pm to 5pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Theresa’s name to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org/involved/donate.
